New York - Paris
in progress

MarieVic was born in Paris and currently lives & works in New York. She graduated from the Special School of Architecture and received an MFA from Parsons The New School for Design.

MarieVic's work reflects on consumption as a mode of existence, by humorously questioning the fetishes and desires of commercial cultures. The medium used varies considerably throughout the projects — his workshop produces sculptures, photographs and videos. His work has been exhibited at Red Bull Arts (New York), Eyebeam (New York), Palais de Tokyo (Paris), MOCA (Toronto), MuCEM (Marseille), Stems Gallery (Brussels), Eigen+Art (Berlin), Magda Danysz Gallery (Paris).

As well as being featured in Nowness, Visionaire, iD, Vogue, W Magazine, Wallpaper and Vice. In 2015, she won an award for Blowing Riccardo at the Milan Fashion Film Festival. In 2018, she won the Lishui International Photography Biennale Prize for Uniclones. MarieVic is also the author of the project on the legendary architect François Roche: Who are you François Roche? which accompanied his retrospective.

End of 2023, MarieVic - in partnership with Stems Gallery - presents in Paris: the TOTEM exhibition, from November 25 to December 16. The corpus exhibited - a series of phallic sculptures - is a reflection on the phallus as a signifier and on the symbolic connections that it crystallizes. It’s also a way of making it your own.

With TOTEM, MarieVic aims to create a playful arrangement of phalli, a humorous critique of the consumerist destruction of the erotic and transgressive force of sexuality.
