TVK is an international architecture and urbanism office created in Paris in 2003 by Pierre Alain Trévelo and Antoine Viger-Kohler. Trained in Paris and Harvard, they pursue an approach where theory and practice respond to and enrich each other. Their goal is to capture the complexity and paradoxical nature of the contemporary earthly situation, to make it habitable. TVK is one of the most recognized French office both in France and internationally (Palmarès des Jeunes Urbanistes in 2005, New Albums of Young Architects in 2006) with the redevelopment of the Place de la République in Paris in 2013, the transformation of the E40 motorway in Brussels, redevelopment of Place de la Gare in Lausanne, study of the definition of design principles for public spaces around the stations of the future Grand Paris Express metro.

In 2021, TVK is invited to the 17th International Architecture Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia curated by Hashim Sarkis on the theme “How will we live together ?" - to present The Earth is architecture, from May 22nd until November 21st. An eponymous book will be published in May by Spector Books. In 2022, lille3000 invites TVK to present La Terre est une architecture as part of Utopia, from May 14 to October 2, at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Lille, in the room of the seven altar paintings.
By building its specificity through the combination of a double approach, TVK produces an essential architecture, in which space, geometry and construction are key elements and also conducts strategic research on the major themes that condition the development of the planet. To represent the synthesis of this dual approach, TVK engages in work at all scales - from furniture to the territory, from the building to the planet. At the heart of their daily activity, TVK develops research programs - questioning new thinking about the planning of the planet - which take different forms : publications, conferences and exhibitions. For the 17th International Architecture Exhibition, TVK presents the results of a research initiated in 2015 - during the exhibition The Earth is an architecture at the Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine in Paris ; the office was invited by Francis Rambert, for the launch of the Platform for Architectural Creation.
In 2020, the TVK Endowment Fund is created and aims to support a critical education in architecture as well as an emerging, renewed and transversal creation through research and foresight programs which are defined and developed each year with local, national and international partners.
